National Minimum Wage – October 2016
The National Minimum Wage is the minimum pay per hour almost all workers are entitled to by law.
No matter how small an employer is, they still have to pay the minimum wage.
This minimum wage rate depends on a worker’s age and if they are an apprentice.
From October 1st a new minimum wage rate will be introduced.
The National Living Wage
The Government's National Living Wage was introduced on 1 April 2016 for all working people aged 25 and over, and is set at £7.20 per hour.
